the style file: Terese

In this week's edition of The Style File, we have a very important (and stylish!) public figure: Terese, who works as a State Representative in the Wisconsin State Assembly. She proves that it's possible to dress for your age, occupation AND personal style, even when drafting bills, passing legislation and representing the public. If you haven't already, check out our other Style File weekly profiles, Madeline and Barb.

name: Terese Berceau

age: 61 (do I have to? :))

hometown: Madison, WI

occupation: State Legislator

describe your style in three words: Eclectic with class.

what is your favorite item of clothing in your closet?: I have a purple stretch lace Nicole Miller dress that I love...or jeans...or an ankle-length ruched chocolate brown skirt...or a great pair of boots...I admittedly LOVE shopping and have too much to choose from!

best piece of fashion advice you've ever received: Buy colors that look good on you and eventually, everything in your closet will mix, match and flatter YOU.

finish this sentence: an outfit is never complete without...: ...the right shoes!

favorite accessory: A gold lariat necklace you can wear everyday.

fall trend you're lusting over: A pair of tall chocolate brown riding boots.

the 3 items from June Ruby you'd most like to own: I love the Plenty Zip Cardigan, Cynthia Steffe Georgia Dress and the LAmade Boucle Vest!

the style file: Barb

In this week's edition of The Style File, we'll profile Barb, a fashionable mom of four (also fashionable) daughters who proves you can rock your own unique personal style at any age! If you haven't already, learn more about this weekly feature with our inaugural The Style File with fashion + food blogger, Madeline.

name: Barb

age: 53

hometown: St. Paul, MN

occupation: Customer Service Representative for Target

who is your style icon?: I don't think I could define myself by just one! My style tends to be more of a hodge podge and smorgasbord of looks that I like - bohemian, ralphie, stripes, crocheted, bright colors, black & white, girly yet masculine - see, I can't decide!

how has your style changed as you've gotten older?: I am definitely buying better, higher-quality pieces and spending more time shopping for the right piece, compared to the sweatshirt and jeans I wore when I was younger raising four daughters and ensuring they had all the cute clothes instead.

how long does it take you to get ready in the morning? I can usually be ready in an hour without rushing, but mind you, I do wear a uniform so most of the time is spent on plastering the wrinkles, crow's feet and age spots I've acquired with make-up ;).

finish this sentence: every woman should have _________ in her closet. A great pair of jeans...or two!

heels or flats: Everyone who knows me, knows that's a no brainer - heels, even though I am 5'8!

fall trend you are lusting over: I would love a great pair of Frye Boots and some chunky knit sweaters for fall.

three items from june ruby you'd most like to own: The Plenty Zip Cardigan, Sanctuary White Peace Pant and LAMade Long V Tee all seem like great layering pieces for fall. And yes, you CAN wear white after Labor Day!

the style file: Madeline

In this new weekly feature, we'll profile real women with busy jobs and even busier lives who strive to master their demanding schedules all the while looking stylish. They'll share their secrets to getting ready (and looking good!) on the go, the must-have items in their closets and the June Ruby styles they're lusting over. Let's get started with Madeline, a fashionable foodie who writes the blog Greens and Jeans!

name: Madeline Rake

age: 26

hometown: Lawrence, KS currently living in Philadelphia, PA

blog: Greens and Jeans - it's all about living a healthy life and looking fabulous along the way!

occupation: field service representative for SmartWool and Timberland (I travel a lot and talk about wool and boots!)

describe your style in 3 words: Classic with a twist (okay, that's four, but does "a" really count?!)

how long does it take you to get ready in the morning?: Anywhere between 3 and 30 minutes depending on how much time I spend standing in my closet staring at my clothes before I decide what to wear.

finish this sentence: i never leave the house without...Sunglasses! Besides having the most light sensitive eyes ever, I'm pretty sure that sunglasses can make an outfit.

what's your closet must-have for any woman on the go?: A well-fitting blazer. No her piece can instantly class up any outfit. Bonus - my favorite cashmere blazer is warm enough to wear as a jacket through most of the fall!

fall trend you are lusting over: Wide leg pants. I love my skinny jeans as much as any girl, but I'm anxious to find a pair of fabulous high waist, wide leg pants that work on my 5'2 frame!

the three items from june ruby you'd most like to own: the Plenty Zip Cardigan (it's on sale! bonus!), the Mariana Sam Shoe (I can even imagine pairing these with black or grey tights for fall), and the Cynthia Steffe Georgia Dress.

Are you the next June Ruby model? We're shooting our super cute spring merchandise March 19th and 20th in the Boulder area and are currently seeking women in their late 20's - 30's to model our clothing. Experience is a plus, but definitely not necessary. Also not necessary: super skinniness. Sizes up to 10 are great!  Our first photo shoot involved women who were not professional models, but able to take the direction of our photographer and have fun. This is a great opportunity to gain some national exposure, build your resume/book, or just get some great photos of yourself while meeting other professional women. If you're interested, send us an email with a photo and your height and clothing size to feedback@juneruby.com

We can't wait to hear from you!
